Ministry of Culture offers Kathina robes
Yangon, 17 Nov - The Ministry of Culture held its ninth communal Kathina robes offering ceremony at the University of Culture (Yangon) in Dagon Myothit (South) this morning.
After the ceremony, "soon" was offered to members of the Sangha.
Under the patronage of Minister for Culture Maj-Gen Kyi Aung and wife Daw Khin Khin Lay, communal Kathina robes offering ceremony of the Department of Cultural Institute and the Fine Arts Department was held at Byugon Tawya Monastery in Gyogon East Ward, Insein Township this morning.
It was attended by members of the Sangha led by Presiding Sayadaw of Byugon Tawya Monastery Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Arcinna, Director-General of the Department of Cultural Institute U Myint Thein Swe, Director-General of the Fine Arts Department U Nyunt Han, officials and wellwishers.
On behalf of the minister and wife, the directors-general presented robes and offertories to the Sayadaw and members of the Sangha.
Afterwards, the Sayadaw delivered a sermon followed by sharing of the merits gained. |
