Secretary-1 attends Kathina robes offering ceremony of Myanmar Motion Picture Asiayon
Yangon, 2 Nov - The first Kathina robe offering ceremony of Myanmar Motion Picture Asiayon was held at Kalaywa Tawya Monastery on Dhammapala Hill in Mayangon Township at 9 am today, attended by Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council General Khin Nyunt.
Also present on the occasion were Vice-Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Agga Maha Pandita Sayadaw Bhaddanta Silavamsa (Myitkyina Sayadaw) and member Sayadaws, Joint Secretary Sayadaw Presiding Nayaka of Kalaywa Tawya Monastery Agga Maha Pandita Dwipitakadhara Dwipitaka Kovida Bhaddanta Jagarabhivamsa and members of the Sangha, invited Sayadaws, the ministers, the mayor, the deputy ministers, officials of the State Peace and Development Council Office, departmental heads, the chairman and executives of MMPA and members, wellwishers and guests.
The Vice-Chairman Sayadaw administered the Five Precepts.
 Then, the chairman of the Asiayon offered Kathina robes to the Presiding Nayaka of Kalaywa Tawya Monastery. The Presiding Nayaka Sayadaw delivered a sermon. Then, the Secretary-1 donated provisions to the Vice-Chairman Sayadaw.
Next, the ministers, the mayor, the chairman and executives of the Asiayon, artistes and wellwishers offered provisions to the Sayadaws.
Afterwards, the Joint-Secretary Sayadaw delivered a sermon, followed by sharing of merits.
After the ceremony, the Secretary-1 performed the rituals of golden and silver showers to mark the successful completion of the donation ceremony and offered
"soon" to the Sayadaws.
