Senior General Than Shwe and party arrive Phnom Penh to attend First GMS Summit

Yangon, 6 Nov - At the invitation of Prime Minister of Cambodia Mr Samdech Hun Sen, Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council Prime Minister of Union of Myanmar Senior General Than Shwe, accompanied by wife Daw Kyaing Kyaing, Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council General Khin Nyunt and party, left Yangon on 3 November to attend the First Greater Mekong Subregion Summit, the Eighth Summit of ASEAN, ASEAN Heads of State/Government of the People's Republic of China, Japan and the Republic of Korea Summit and ASEAN-India Summit to be held in Phnom Penh on 3 November.

They arrived at Pochentong International Airport in Phnom Penh at 11.45 am local time. Senior General Than Shwe and wife Daw Kyaing Kyaing and party were welcomed at the airport by welcoming party led by Minister of Public Work and Transport of Cambodia Mr Khy Tainglim, Myanmar Ambassador U Saw Hla Min and wife Daw Khin Swe Yu, embassy staff and families.

Senior General Than Shwe and wife Daw Kyaing Kyaing and party arrived at Hotel Cambodiana in Phnom Penh where they were to stay.
