Stimulant pills, raw opium seized
Yangon, 2 April - A combined team comprising members of local
intelligence unit and Lashio Special Anti-Drug Squad on 9 February seized 2,000
stimulant tablets bearing WY letters from a house of Wantinyon of Shwenyaungpin
Street, Region-6, Ward-7, Lashio, and arrested him. The combined team searched
his house following a public tip-off.
Similarly, members of Railways
Police Force of Ywadaung Station and local intelligence unit on 22 February
searched four garlic bags of Ma Khin Than Shane while she was placing the bags
on No 215 up-train at Ywadaung Station and discovered 10 packets of raw opium
weighing 15.264 kilos.
Action is being taken against
them by the police stations concerned under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic
Substances Law.
