Commander, Minister
inspect railroad
Yangon, 3
April — Minister for Rail Transportation Maj-Gen Aung Min,
arrived at Myitkyina Railway Station on 30 March afternoon.
He met with the
staff of the railway station and gave instructions on
improvement of railroad ensuring smooth transportation of
passengers and goods. Then, the deputy minister explained the
staff welfare tasks. Afterwards, the minister inspected the
surrounding areas of the station and departure of trains.
On 31 March,
Chairman of Kachin State Peace and Development Council Commander
of Northern Command Maj-Gen Maung Maung Swe and the minister
inspected the Myitkyina-Kawlin railroad section, Mayan-Namti
railroad section, Pinbaw-Namkhin railroad section, No 615 Bridge
between Myothitgale and Namma, straightening of railroad in
Namkham-Bonchaung railroad section, and levelling of hills and
attended to the needs. The minister inspected the Kawlin-Mandalay
railroad section and maintenance tasks of No 159 Bridge between
Htantabin and Nyaungzin on 1 April.
