Drug traffickers get
jail sentences

April— A combined team comprising members of local intelligence
unit and Bago anti drug squad on 25 May 2002 searched a parcel
at 13-mile Village on Thandaung Township sent from Kyaw Kyaw in
Lashio and discovered 97 stimulant tablets bearing WY letters.
On follow-up
investigation, No 1 Police Station, Toungoo, arrested Saw Kyaw
Naing (a) Kyaw Kyaw, 28, son of U Daw Nae of Daw Uku Ward,
Lashio, Saw Al Htoo, 20, son of U Saw Alfred of Loikaw and Salai
Lin Aung (a) Pho Kwa, 29, son of U Hla Soe of Naung Ya (A) Ward,
Loikaw, and filed them under Section 15/19 (A) of Narcotic Drugs
and Psychotropic Substances Law. Toungoo District Court on 6
March sentenced them to 15 years’ imprisonment each.
