Development of Myanma gem mining coordinated

 

Yangon, 7 April— A coordination meeting on development of Myanma gem mining was held at the office of Minister for Mines this afternoon, attended by Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council General Khin Nyunt.

Minister for Mines Brig-Gen Ohn Myint reported on increased earnings from gem emporiums including the 39th Myanma Gem Emporium, 2002 Mid-year Gem Emporium and the 40th Myanma Gem Emporium, gem mining and market of Myanma jade and gems.

 

Chairman of Myanma Gem Central Supervisory Committee Deputy Minister for Mines U Myint Thein reported on blocks attoted and blocks reclaimed in gemlands and gem and jade mining in cooperation with national entrepreneurs.

The Secretary-1 took part in the discussions and the meeting came to a close. Before the meeting, the Secretary-1 inspected Seinbudaw, Thabeiktaw and Hngetmyatnadaw to be hoisted at Zabunyein Hsutaungpyi pagoda in Panwa in special region-1 in Kachin State, carving of 18 inches high Dhammacakka Mudra Buddha image made of jade. The managing director of Myanma Gem Enterprise and officials reported on sacred religions objects.
