Yangon, 17 April - A total of 230 national race cultural troupe members from border areas who took part in Maha Thingyan Festival in Yangon City at the invitation of Chairman of the Work Committee for Progress of Border Areas and National Races Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council General Khin Nyunt, accompanied by Deputy Director Major Tun Oo of the Progress of Border Areas and National Races Department, paid homage to Shwemawdaw Pagoda in Bago this morning and made cash donations.

They then paid homage to Seinthahlyaung Pagoda and visited Kanbawzathadi Palace. Officials conducted them round the palace. In the afternoon, the cultural troupe members paid homage to Shwethahlyaung Pagoda, Maha Zedi Pagoda and Kyaikpon Pagoda.
