April — A combined team comprising members of local intelligence
unit and Yangon Special Anti-drug Squad, acting on information,
searched Zaw Min Oo near Ponegyi Street No 1 jetty in Seikkan
Township on 12 September and seized him together with 2.04 grams
of heroin and 180 stimulant pills from his bag.
In connection
with the case, Seikkan Township Police Station filed a lawsuit
against Zaw Min Oo (a) Ko Khaing (a) Min Kyaing (a) Tin Maung
Than (a) Naing Naing Tar, 20, son of U Bo of No 26 Yankin Street
in Lashio under section 15/19(A)/20(A) of Narcotic Drugs and
Psychotropic Substances Law.
Yangon West
District Court sentenced him to 23 years in prison under section
19(A) on 20 March 2003.
