Minister inspects
construction of Hkamti Airport
Yangon, 28 April - Minister for Transport
Maj-Gen Hla Myint Swe arrived at Hkamti Airport this morning.
Officials of Public Works
reported on the design of the runway, progress of works, use of heavy
machinery. Director-General U Win Maung gave a supplementary report.
The minister gave
instructions on laying of Tarmac on 4,800 feet long and 100 feet wide runway
as soon as possible, the runway to be extended into 6,000 feet long and 100
feet wide for second phase and laying of Tarmac in the southern part of the
runway before the rainy season.
Then, the minister inspected
progress of works by car and gave necessary instructions.
