Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than attends opening of cold storage factories in Ayeyawady Division

Yangon, 2 April - Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for extended production of fish and meat in Ayeyawady Division member of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than of the Ministry of Defence and party attended the opening of Ocean Food Cold Storage Factory in Choungtwin Village in Pyapon Township on 31 March morning.

First, the commander and the minister formally opened the factory by cutting a ribbon.

Next, the directors of the factory donated K 500,000 each for the development of Pyapon District and to the funds of the People's Hospital.

Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than and party inspected round the factory and gave necessary instructions to officials.

Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than and party then attended the opening ceremony of Pyapon Cold Storage Factory in Tankyun Village in Dadeye Township. The directors of the factory presented K 500,000 each for the development of Pyapon District and to the funds of the People's Hospital. Then, Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than viewed round the factory.

Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than and party met with entrepreneurs on the water craft, and explained matters related to the development of fisheries.

They then viewed Pyapon-Kyonkadon-Seikma-Ama motor road in Pyapon and development of the township.

Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than and party proceeded to Ama Village-tract in Bogalay Township. At the hall of Ama base camp of Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise, the Ministry of Energy, Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than met with the chairman of Bogalay Township Peace and Development Council and members, chairmen of the village-tract PDCs and members, members of social organizations and local people and discussed development tasks.

Officials reported to Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than on location of the township, monsoon paddy yield, cultivation of summer paddy and cold season crops, drinking water supply, cultivation of pepper, arrangements for catching fish and construction of roads and bridges.

Then, Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than made a speech.

Then, Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than and party proceeded to Kaingthoung Village, Pyinalan Village-tract in Labutta Township by boat and met with local authorities, townselders, USDA members and local people.

At the meeting, Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than gave instructions on development of the village. Next, U Kyin Thaung of the village-tract Peace and Development Council reported on matters relating to education, transportation, fisheries and cultivation being carried out in the village.

Then, Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than said that he, together with Maj-Gen Htay Oo and officials, arrived there to fulfil the requirements for development of the village and the villagers are also needed to make efforts for fisheries development. He also urged them to strive for prevalence of law and order and stability and community peace in cooperation with local authorities. After the meeting, Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than and party went to Amatgyi Village in the village-tract.
