Drug possessor jailed
Yangon,
4 Feb — A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and Magway
Special Anti-Drug Squad, acting on information on 31 May 2002, searched Htay
Myint in Hnone Village, Chaungzon Village-tract, Myaing Township, and seized him
together with 9.6 litres of phensedyl put in 96 bottles.
In connection with the case, Bahin Police
Station filed a law suit against Htay Myint, 34, son of U Tin Maung of Khapat
Village, Tamu, Sagaing Division, under section 15/19(A)220(A) of Narcotic Drugs
and Psychotropic Substances Law.
Pakokku District Court sentenced him to 15
years in prison under section 19 (A) on 31 December 2002.
