 Commander inspects model farm in Sagaing

Yangon, 4 Feb — Chairman of Sagaing Division Peace and Development Council Commander of North-West Command Maj-Gen Soe Naing, attended the work coordination meeting on cultivation of cold season crops in ChaungU Township held at the office of the Township Peace and Development Council on 30 January.

First, Chairman of ChaungU Township Peace and Development Council U Khin Maung Aye reported on development tasks and cultivation of cold season crops. Chairman Lt-Col Win Naung of Monywa District Peace and Development Council read a supplementary report. The meeting ended with the concluding remarks by the commander.

Afterwards, the commander proceeded to the summer paddy special zone near Kaunghmudaw Lake in Sagaing and inspected the model farm. Chairman of Sagaing District Peace and Development Council Lt-Col Sein Ya and members of the agricultural supervisory committee reported to the commander on cultivation of summer paddy. The commander gave instructions on meeting the target of cultivated acreage, boosting of per-acre yield and extended cultivation of double-cropping.

Then, the commander attended the work coordination meeting on cultivation of cold season crops and boosting agricultural production held at Mya Eya Hall in Sagaing. The chairman of the District Peace and Development Council and officials reported on cultivation of cold season crops and future tasks. The commander attended to the needs, and the meeting concluded.
