Pyapon District Crime Reduction Supervisory Committee meets
Pyapon District Crime Reduction Supervisory Committee held the coordination
meeting at Pyapon District General Administration Department on 21 January.
Chairman of Pyapon District Peace and Development Council Lt-Col Myo Myint made
a speech. Officials reported on arrangements for reducing criminal cases in
2003.
Education signboard, stone
inscription unveiled at Yankin BEHS No 2
The
signboard bearing to build a modern and developed nation through education and
the stone inscription bearing Myanmar education goal were unveiled at Yankin
BEHS No 2 on 31 January. Outstanding students unveiled the signboard. Then,
Deputy Director U Nu of No 3 Basic Education Department (Yangon City) unveiled
the stone inscription.
Armed Forces Day extempore
talks held in Wakema
As a
gesture of hailing the 58th Anniversary Armed Forces Day, the extempore talk
contest, organized by Wakema Township Union Solidarity and Development
Association, was held at Shwewei Thiri Gymnasium on 20 January. A total of 17
competitors participated in the contest. Chairman of Township Peace and
Development Council U Tun Zaw, Township USDA Secretary
U Kyaw Lwin and officials presented prizes to the respective winners.
Rice, oil donated to Parahita
School for the Blind
The
ceremony to donate 50 bags of rice and 40 viss of groundnut oil presented by
youths from Singapore through writer Chit San Win to U Ñeya Parahita School for
the Blind near Maha Arnthtoo Kantha Pagoda in PyinOoLwin on 19 January. Writer
Chit San Win explained the purpose of the donations and presented the donations
to Chairman of the School for the Blind Management Board U Win Myint (Retired
Police Lt-Col).
Rural development tasks
explained in Chauk
Officials of Chauk Township Union Solidarity and Development Association and
Township Information and Public Relations Department gave lectures on
implementation for future tasks of USDA and participation in rural development
tasks in Kyaukye and Thanbo village-tracts in Pakhannge Station on 24 and
Hsuyitkan and Minkan villages in the same station in Chauk Township on 26
January.
Sanitation carried out at feeder canal of Ngamin
Reservoir
Under
the leadership of Taungdwingyi Township Peace and Development Council,
sanitation works were carried out for proper flow of water by workers of
Irrigation Department and local farmers at No 2 feeder canal of Ngamin Reservoir
on 26 January. They will put 1,000 acres of land near the canal under summer
paddy.
Surgeon team goes field trip
to Kawthoung
Dr U
Khin Lin of Central Malaria Control Unit of Health Department, Deputy Head of
Taninthayi Division Health Department Dr Ni Ni Aye, Head of Kawthoung District
Health Department Dr U Lay Kyaw and Professor Dr Kalamoto of Nagoya University
of Japan went a field trip to villages in Kawthoung on 15 and 16 January. The
team provided medical treatment to the local people.
