Lt-Gen Thein Sein meets MWVO members in Mon State

Yangon, 23 March - Chairman of the Central Organizing Committee for Myanmar War Veterans Organization member of the State Peace and Development Council Adjutant-General Lt-Gen Thein Sein met with chairmen of state and district supervision groups for war veterans organization, chairmen and secretaries of township organizing committees and members of MWVO in Mon State yesterday. Lt-Gen Thein Sein explained to them on matters relating to the tasks being undertaken by the MWVO. Lt-Gen Thein Sein left here by car yesterday morning and arrived at Mawlamyine, Mon State, at 12.30 pm. Lt-Gen Thein Sein met with chairmen and secretaries of state and district supervision groups for WVOs, chairmen and secretaries of township organizing committees and members of MWVO at the Ramanya hall of Mon State Peace and Development Council office in Mawlamyine.

At the meeting, Chairman of Mon State Supervision Group for WVO Secretary of Mon State Peace and Development Council Lt-Col Aung Maw Maw reported on organizing the WVO members in the state, implementation of five major tasks, welfare for the members and agriculture and livestock breeding tasks.

Then, member of the Thaton District WVO supervision group Major Aung Than (Retd) reported on formation of WVO organizing committees in Kyaikhto, Bilin, Thaton and Paung Townships in the district and welfare and public interest tasks being undertaken and Mawlamyine District WVO supervision group Chairman District Peace and Development Council Chairman Lt-Col Thaw Zin on form mation of WVO organizing committees in Mawlamyine, Chaungzon, Kyaikhto, Mudon, Thanbyuzayat and Yay Townships and implementation of five major tasks. Then, Lt-Gen Thein Sein gave instructions on formation of various levels of MWVO, policy and work programmes of the MWVO, tasks being carried out by the central organizing committee and future plans and tasks to be carried out by state, district and township WVOs. He also urged the members of the state, division, district and township WVOs to carry out the work programmes laid down by the MWVO (Central) and efforts are to be made for the organization to win the respect of the people. After the meeting, Lt-Gen Thein Sein cordially greeted those present.
