Maung Bo inspects regional development tasks in
Kawthoung

Yangon, 18 Feb Ñ Member of
the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Maung Bo
of the Ministry of Defence, accompanied by Chairman of
the Taninthayi Division Peace and Development Council
Commander of the Coastal Region Command Brig-Gen Ohn
Myint, Minister for Hotels and Tourism, and
Communications, Posts and Telegraphs Brig-Gen Thein Zaw,
Deputy Minister for Agriculture and Irrigation Brig-Gen
Khin Maung and departmental officials, on 15 February
morning inspected construction of Pulontontong wooden
bridge linking Kawthoung and Pulontontong Village.
Afterwards, Kawthoung District Peace and Development
Council Chairman Lt-Col Tin Soe reported to Lt-Gen Maung
Bo on construction work and future tasks. Next, Lt-Gen
Maung Bo gave instructions on timely completion of work
and maintenance. The total length of the bridge will be
5,700 ft long. Lt-Gen Maung Bo and party went to 200-bed
new hospital construction site in Kawthoung. At the hall
of the hospital, officials concerned reported on
progress of the construction work and future tasks.
Next, Lt-Gen Maung Bo gave instructions on timely
completion of the buildings meeting the set standard and
minimizing loss and wastage, and inspected the hospital.
Lt-Gen Maung Bo and party arrived at auto-exchange of
the Myanma Posts and Telecommunications where CPT
Minister Brig-Gen Thein Zaw reported on the plans for
installation of auto-telephone lines. Next, Lt-Gen Maung
Bo gave necessary instructions and viewed exchange room
and operator room.

Afterwards, Lt-Gen Maung Bo and party
also saw over Kawthoung jetty and construction of
retaining wall between Bayintnaung Bridge and Myoma
Bridge. Later, they also inspected wholesaling of fish
and prawn. Lt-Gen Maung Bo and party proceeded to Ma
Kyone Galet Village in Bo Cho Island where they were
welcomed by Salone Traditional Festival organizing work
committee Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism
Brig-Gen Aye Myint Kyu, officials and Salone national
races. Next, Lt-Gen Maung Bo and party viewed round the
festival and cordially conversed with Salone national
races and tourists.
