Cash donated for renovation of Shwephonepwint Pagoda

YANGON, 26 March - The presenting of cash donations for the third renovation of the Shwephonepwint Pagoda and religious buildings was held at the pagoda in Pazundaung Township here this afternoon.

It was attended by Chairman of the Leading Committee for All-round Renovation of the pagoda Minister for Information Brig-Gen Kyaw Hsan, Minister for Commerce Brig-Gen Pyi Sone, Minister for Coopera-tives Maj-Gen Htay Oo, Minister for Communications, Posts and Telegraphs Brig-Gen Thein Zaw, Minister for Religious Affairs Brig-Gen Thura Myint Maung, Deputy Minister for Information Brig-Gen Aung Thein, departmental heads, officials and wellwishers.

At the ceremony, cash donations amounted to K 16,420,635. The ministers and the deputy minister accepted the donations and presented certificates of honour to the wellwisher. Afterwards, the ministers and party viewed religious buildings.
