Prime Minister attends ceremony to honour Tipitakadhara Tipitaka Kovida, Tipitakadhara Sayadaws

Yangon, 23 May -  A ceremony to honour Tipitakadhara Tipitaka Kovida Ashin Indapala and Tipitakadhara Ashin Indacariya and other members of the Sangha who had emerged from Tipitaka Nikaya Missionary Upathaka Group established by Venerable Mingun Tipitakadhara Dhammabhandagarika Sayadaw was held at Tipitaka Monastery in this afternoon, attended by Prime Minister General Khin Nyunt.

 

Prime Minister attends coord meeting of Leading Committee for All-round Perpetual Renovation of Shwedagon Pagoda

Yangon, 23 May - The Leading Committee for All-round Perpetual Renovation of Shwedagon Pagoda held the coordination meeting at ancient Buddha Images Tazaung of the pagoda at 2 pm today, attended by Patron of Leading Committee Prime Minister General Khin Nyunt. The Prime Minister gave instructions on renovation of the pagoda without harming ancient cultural works and maintenance of the religious buildings.

Lt-Gen Ye Myint inspects building of Myittha Bridge (Kalewa), Kalewa-Mawlaik Road

Yangon, 23 May - Member of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Ye Myint of the Ministry of Defence, accompanied by officials of the State Peace and Development Council Office and ministries concerned, left here by air on 22 May morning and arrived Mandalay International Airport at 8 am.

 

Altogether 183 major bridges built across the nation  Panmon Creek Bridge opened in Sagaing Division     

Yangon, 23 May - Panmon Creek Bridge, which was built by the Construction Group 11 of the Public Works on Kalay-Gangaw Road near Natchaung Village in Kalay Township, Sagaing Division, was opened this morning with an inauguration speech by Member of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Ye Myint of the Ministry of Defence.

Yangon, 23 May - Minister for Industry-2 Maj-Gen Saw Lwin, accom- panied by Deputy Minister Lt-Col Khin Maung Kyaw and officials, inspected Indagaw Industrial Zone in Bago Division this afternoon. Managing Director of Myanma Automobile and Diesel Engine Industries U Soe Thein reported on production of autoparts for jeeps, TE trucks and purchase of raw materials.
