Prime Minister
attends ceremony to honour Tipitakadhara Tipitaka Kovida,
Tipitakadhara Sayadaws

- A ceremony to honour Tipitakadhara Tipitaka Kovida Ashin
Indapala and Tipitakadhara Ashin Indacariya and other members
of the Sangha who had emerged from Tipitaka Nikaya Missionary
Upathaka Group established by Venerable Mingun Tipitakadhara
Dhammabhandagarika Sayadaw was held at Tipitaka Monastery in
Dagon Township this afternoon, attended by Prime Minister
General Khin Nyunt.
Also present on
the occasion were Vice-Chairman of the State Sangha Maha
Nayaka Committee Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha
Saddhammajotikadhaja Thayet Sayadaw Bhaddanta Kesara,
Secretary Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha
Saddhammajotika Magway Sayadaw Bhaddanta Kumara and member
Sayadaws, Chairman of the Tipitakadhara Selection Examination
Ovadaçariya Committee Mawlamyine Webyan Monastery Sayadaw
Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Vijayarbhivamsa and
members, Pro-Rector of International Theravada Buddhist
Missionary University Agga Maha Pandita Dr Kumarabhivamsa and
members of the Sangha, patron Sayadaws of Tipitaka Nikaya
Missionary Upathaka Group, Tipitakadhara Tipitaka Kovida
Sayadaws and monks who had passed the 56th Tipitakadhara
Selection Examination, Chairman of Yangon Division Peace and
Development Council Commander of Yangon Command Maj-Gen Myint
Swe, ministers, deputy ministers, senior military officers,
officials of the State Peace and Development Council Office,
departmental heads, the Chairman of Tipitaka Nikaya Missionary
Upathaka Group (Central) and members, the chairmen of Tipitaka
Nikaya Missionary Upathaka Group (Yangon) and (Mandalay),
disciples and guests. First, Thiha Thudhamma Manijotadhara
Hsinmin U Tin Shwe and party ushered in the Sayadaws to the
designated places.

Secretary Sayadaw Bhaddanta Kumara administered the Five
Precepts.
Chairman of
Tipitaka Nikaya Missionary Upathaka Group (Central) U Aye Pe (Retd)
supplicated on the purpose of honouring members of the Sangha.
Next, Prime
Minister General Khin Nyunt offered robes and provisions to
the Magway Sayadaw. Afterwards, the commander, the ministers,
the deputy ministers and senior military officers donated
provisions to the Sayadaws.
