Government creating economic opportunities for private entrepreneurs, providing assistance for cultivation of oil palm, rubber and marketable crops

Yangon, 20 Nov - A coordination meeting (8/2004) on cultivation of oil palm, rubber and new crops was held at the meeting hall of Zeyathiri Beikman on Konmyinttha this evening, with an address by member of the State Peace and Development Council General Thura Shwe Mann.

Dam projects inspected in Magway Division

Yangon, 20 Nov - Minister for Agriculture and Irrigation Maj-Gen Htay Oo, accompanied by local authorities, officials and departmental heads, inspected late monsoon long staple cotton plantations near Yaypaw Village, Aunglan Township, Magway Division, yesterday.

Yangon, 20 Nov - Minister for Culture Maj-Gen Kyi Aung this morning inspected renovation of Kanbawzathadi Palace of King Bayintnaung in Bago Division. Deputy Director-General of the Archaeology Department U Tun Zaw and Director Daw Sandar Khin reported on greening of the palace.

Hotels in Yangon City inspected

Yangon, 20 Nov - Minister for Hotels and Tourism Brig-Gen Thein Zaw, accompanied by Deputy Minister Brig-Gen Aye Myint Kyu and officials, went on inspection tours of hotels in Yangon City.

Entrance for 2004-2005 Academic Year of National Management College

Yangon, 20 Nov - 2004-2005 Academic Year of National Management College of the Higher Education Department (Lower Myanmar) under the Ministry of Education will be opened on 16 December. In the college, courses of English for Professional Purposes-BA(EPP) and Bachelor in Business Management (BBM) will be given lecture.

Yangon, 20 Nov - South Korean and Iranian Wushu teams arrived here by air this afternoon to participate in the 6th Asian Wushu Championships to be hosted by Myanmar from November 20 to 28, 2004.
