Urbanization tasks inspected

Yangon, 27 Nov - Col Myo Myint, Director-General of the Development Affairs Department of the Ministry of Progress of Border Areas and National Races and Development Affairs, inspected urbanization tasks being conducted by the township development affairs committees here on 27 November.

In his inspection tour of the townships in Yangon, he was accompanied by departmental officials.

In Kunchangon township, he inspected the nursery garden being worked by the township development affairs committee, and the construction of the tar road in front of the electric power office. During his inspection, he gave instructions on timely completion of the road construction and minimizing loss and wastage. The road is being constructed at a cost of K 4.75 million funded by the State for 2004-2005 fiscal.

In Kawhmu township, he also inspected road and bridge construction projects. The construction of Yedashe bridge and Kawchan bridge are under way at a cost of K 20.505 million funded by the State for 2004-2005 fiscal.

He proceeded to Twantay, where he oversaw the repaving of Shwesandaw Pagoda Road, which is 1,600 feet in length.
