Workshop on Capacity Enhancement concludes

YANGON, 27 Nov — The last-day session of the Workshop on Capacity Enhancement of Myanmar Civil Service 2004 (Yangon) took place at the Sedona Hotel on Kaba Aye Pagoda Road here this morning.

A groupwise assessments were made in connection with the two papers read out in the third-day session — “Privatisation in Malaysia” by Research Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research Mr Shankaran Nambiar and “Globalization and South Korea Challenges, Perception and Responses” by Associate Professor of Kyunghee University Dr Jin-Young Chung.

Dr Mohamed Ariff, Executive Director of the MIER elaborated on matters related to the findings of the first paper, and Dr Jin-Young Chung on the other paper.

At the closing ceremony of the workshop, CSSTB Chairman Dr Than Nyun presented certificates to participants through the leaders of respective groups.

Organized by the Civil Service Selection and Training Board and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation of Japan, the workshop successfully ended after speeches delivered by the SPF of Japan Executive Director Dr Seki Akinori and CSSTB Chairman Dr Than Nyun.
