YANGON, 9 April — Prime Minister of the Union of Myanmar Lt-Gen Soe Win arrived back here by special flight at 10 am today after paying goodwill visits to Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Vietnam and Cambodia at the invitation of Prime Minister of the Lao PDR Mr Bounnhang Vorachith, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Mr Phan Van Khai and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Mr Samdech Hun Sen.

Isolated rain in Kachin, Kayin and Mon States

YANGON, 9 April— During the past 24 hours, rain had been isolated in Kachin, Kayin and Mon States and weather had been partly cloudy in the remaining areas. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded was in Putao with 1.26 inches.

Temporary closure of waterway near Chauk

YANGON, 9 April— The Myanma Electric Power Enterprise will install new cables of Kyunchaung-Chauk cable-line crossing Ayeyawady river near Chauk on 13 to 18 April from 7 am to 5 pm. During the time, waterway under the cable line will be closed temporarily.
