Tar roads, artesian well opened in honour of Independence Day

YANGON, 6 Jan — Hailing the 57th Anniversary Independence Day, a new Yogyi tar road was opened in Bhamo Township on 1st January. Chairman of Township Peace and Development Council U Aung Kyaw Khine and Executive Officer U Min Zaw formally opened the road. The road is 3,600 feet long and 12 feet wide and it was upgraded from the gravel road into the tar road.

YANGON, 5 Jan — The 57th Anniversary Independence Day Exhibition organized by the 57th Anniversary Independence Day Information Organizing Sub-committee and the Exhibition Staging Sub-committee continued for the fourth day at the Tatmadaw Convention Hall on U Wisara Road in Dagon Township from morning to this evening.

Robes donated to 504 novices in Taungtha

YANGON, 6 Jan — Minister for Religious Affairs Brig-Gen Thura Myint Maung attended the ceremony to donate robes to 504 novices at Maha Bodi Monastery in Kyaukka Village of Taungtha Township on 1 January.

The minister paid obeisance to Joint-Secretary of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Myingyan Zeya Linkara Pariyatti Monastery Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Kitti and members of the Sangha. Nest, he inspected construction of the building for Buddhist Sasana Propagation Training School in Pakokku.

PBANRDA Minister attends concluding ceremonies of training courses

YANGON, 6 Jan — The No 11 Advanced Management Course, No 2 Refresher Course for Executive Officers and No 20 Management Course concluded this evening at Central Training School of the Education and Training Department under the Ministry for the Progress of Border Areas and National Races and Development Affairs with an address of Minister for PBANRDA Col Thein Nyunt.

MPGA & MGF President’s Trophy Golf Tourney 12-15 Jan

YANGON, 6 Jan — MPGA and MGF President’s Trophy Golf Tournament, organized by Myanmar Professional Golfers Association and Myanmar Golfers Federation, will be held at Hanthawady Golf Course in Bago from 12 to 15 January.
