Jan — The Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Golf Tournament
for Defence Services Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy

Dinner hosted to victorious sports teams of Yangon
Command
YANGON, 9
Jan—A dinner was hosted in honour of athletes from
volleyball, hockey, tennis, wushu and rowing sports
teams of Yangon Command which emerged champions at the
2004 Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services’ Trophy
Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Sports Meets at the
command yesterday evening, attended by Chairman of
Yangon Division Peace and Development Council Commander
of Yangon Command Maj-Gen Myint Swe and wife Daw Khin
Thet Htay. Also present on the occasion were Pricinpal
of the National Defence College Maj-Gen Moe Hein, Deputy
Commander of Yangon Command Brig-Gen Wai Lwin and wife,
military region commanders and their wives, Secretary of
Yangon Division Peace and Development Council Lt-Col
Myint Kyi and departmental officials and their wives,
chairmen of the District Peace and Development Councils
and their wives, senior military officers of Yangon
Command and their wives, team managers, coaches,
athletes, well-wishers and guests.

Dahkyaing Creek Bridge opens
YANGON, 9
Jan — Dahkyaing Creek Bridge in Hlinebwe Township, Kayin
State, which was constructed on self-reliant basic for
better transport, was inaugurated on December 31.
Hlinebwe Township Peace and Development Council Chairman
U Aung San Tha and Kayin national U Saw Kya Inn formally
opened the bridge.

Agricultural, development tasks in Yangon East District

Jan — As Hlegu Township is located in the Greening of
30-mile Radius of Yangon International Airport all the
year round, lands are to be put under summer and monsoon
paddy, edible oil crops, pulses and beans on a
commercial scale and river water pumping tasks are to be
carried out on a managerial scale, said Maj-Gen Myint
Swe, Chairman of Yangon Division Peace and Development
Council and Commander of Yangon Command, on his
inspection tour of agricultural and regional development
in townships of Yangon North and East districts this
morning.

Doha-Yangon-Doha scheduled flight services inaugurated

Jan — A ceremony to inaugurate the scheduled flight
services between Yangon, the capital of Myanmar, and
Doha, the City of the State of Qatar by Qatar Airways
was held at Yangon International Airport yesterday
evening, attended by Deputy Minister for Transport Col
Nyan Tun Aung, Officer on Special Duty at the Ministry
of Transport Acting Director-General (Attached) of the
Department of Civil Aviation Brig-Gen Myo Tin, Senior
Manager of Qatar Airways Mr Ali Al Rais of Qatar
Airways, departmental heads of the Ministry of Transport
and officials of Qatar Airways.
