Encephalogram donated to Mandalay Hospital

YANGON, 18 Jan — Under the sponsorship of the Australian Myanmar Association, Klinikum University in Erlangen, Germany, presented an encephalogram (EEG) and related equipment for Epilepsy Unit of Mandalay People’s Hospital today.

Theravada Missionary Course No 15 to be opened on 7 February

YANGON, 18 Jan—The Department for Promotion and Propagation of the Sasana of the Ministry of Religious Affairs today announced that it will conduct the Theravada Missionary Course No 15 for members of the Sangha and the Health Care Services Course No 6 With Traditional Medicines from 7 February to 7 March 2005 under the supervision of member Sayadaws of the Theravada Missionary Ovadacariya of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee.

YANGON, 18 Jan—Hailing the 60th Anniversary Armed Forces Day which falls on 27 March 2005, the Poem Contest Organizing Sub-committee under the Poem and Arts Competition Organizing Work Committee, chaired by Deputy Minister for Culture Brig-Gen Soe Win Maung, has announced to hold the Poem Contest to mark the 60th Anniversary Armed Forces Day.
