23 Jan — The Fourth Myanmar ICT Week 2005 jointly
organized by e-National Task Force and Myanmar
Information and Communication Technology Development
Corporation was held at MICT Park in Hline Township this
morning, attended by Chairman of Myanmar Computer
Science Development Council Secretary-1 of the State
Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Thein Sein.


NPED Ministry holds
coord meeting

23 Jan – A coordination meeting of the Ministry of
National Planning and Economic Development was held at
the meeting hall of National Archives Department on
Pyidaungsu Yeiktha Road this morning with an address by
Minister for National Planning and Economic Development

Vice-Chairman of Kachin State Special Region-2 U Gaw Yi Zaw Hsaing
YANGON,
23 Jan — Lt-Gen Thein Sein, Secretary-1 of the State
Peace and Development Council, received Vice-Chairman of
Kachin State Special Region-2 U Gaw Yi Zaw Hsaing and
party at Dagon Yeiktha of Yangon Command at 3 pm today.
Those present together with the Secretary-1 were Yangon
Division PDC Chairman Yangon Command Commander Maj-Gen
Myint Swe, Minister for Progress of Border Areas and
National Races and Development Affairs Col Thein Nyunt,
Minister for Electric Power Maj-Gen Tin Htut, Deputy
Minister for Hotels and Tourism Brig-Gen Aye Myint Kyu,
SPDC Office Director- General Col Pe Nyein and senior
military officers. Vice-Chairman of Kachin State Special
Region-2 U Gaw Yi Zaw Hsaing was accompanied by
Secretary Dr Lagya and peace mediators Dr Zabwe John and
U Khun Myat.

Breeding and Veterinary Department and the Livestock,

18 Jan — A ceremony to open Pyinnya Beikman self-reliant
library at Ywama Monastery in Naukmee Village of Ama
Town, Pyapon Township in conjunction with the furniture
and cash donation ceremony was held at Zeyatheikdi
Prayer Hall of the monastery on 16 January.

23 Jan — Member of the Central Executive Committee for
the Union Solidarity Development Association, also
Chairman of Yangon City Development Committee Mayor
Brig-Gen Aung Thein Lin, accompained by Secretary of

addressed the opening of free education programme

— U Ko Ko Lat, Director of Arid Zone Greening Department of
Magway Division, visited forest reserves, plantations and
nursery farms in Natmauk township, Magway Division, on 20
January. In his inspection tour, the director suggested that
fire-preventive measures be taken systematically for forest
reserves as the open season is just around the corner.
