Yangon, 13 March — Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Than Shwe, accompanied by members of the State Peace and Development Council General Thura Shwe Mann, Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than, Lt-Gen Thiha Thura Tin Aung Myint Oo, Lt-Gen Kyaw Win and Lt-Gen Tin Aye, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Vice-Admiral Soe Thein, Commander-in-Chief (Air) Lt-Gen Myat Hein, Chairman of Bago Division Peace and Development Council Commander of Southern Command Maj-Gen Ko Ko, the ministers, senior military officers, officials of the State Peace and Development Council Office and departmental officials, arrived at Khabaung Multipurpoe Dam Project in Oktwin Township from Shwegyin Township by helicopter on 11 March afternoon.

YANGON, 13 March — Member of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Maung Bo, accompanied by Chairman of Taninthayi Division Peace and Development Council Commander of Coastal Region Command Maj-Gen Ohn Myint, officials of the State Peace and Development Council Office and departmental heads, inspected oil palm plantations, agriculture, transport and regional development in Khamaukgyi Township, Kawthoung District, on 7 March morning.

Lt-Gen Ye Myint on tour of Myitkyina

YANGON, 13 March — State Peace and Development Council member Lt-Gen Ye Myint of the Ministry of Defence met military officers, other ranks and their families at the hall of Myitkyina Station on 10 March morning and called for discharging duties in the interest of the people upholding the three main national causes, implementation of the five rural development tasks in cooperation with local people, measure to be taken by responsible officials for the health, education and social welfare of the Tatmadaw families and undertaking of manageable-scale livestock breeding.

YANGON, 13 March — A ceremony to host dinner to Tatmadawmen of Yangon Command military band which won the first championship shield of the 14th Defence Services (Army, Navy and Air) military band contest 2005 to mark 60th Anniversary Armed Forces Day and those of Yangon Command volleyball team which did Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Shield volleyball tournament was held at the hall of Yangon Command Headquarters yesterday eveing.
