Building of Myohla (Tatkon) Dam measuring 2,100 feet by 80 feet in high gear

YANGON, 11 June — Maj-Gen Htay Oo, Minister for Agriculture and Irrigation, inspected Myohla (Tatkon) Dam Project being implemented near Inkhon Village of Tatkon Township for water supply functions of Meiktila Plain Greening Project on 5 June afternoon.

The Director of Construction-5 of Irrigation Department explained functions of the main embankment, the spillway and digging of canals.

The minister met with Chairman of Yamethin District Peace and Development Council Lt-Col Aung Kyi Shein and departmental officials. They discussed water supply facilities, extended cultivation of summer paddy and onion, greening tasks along the left canal of Hsinthay Dam and environs of Myohla (Tatkon) Dam.

Maj-Gen Htay Oo oversaw construction of earthen embankment measuring 2,100 feet by 80 feet at Myohla (Tatkon) Dam and completion of 30 feet wide spillway.
