Commander Looks into World Population Day Commemorative Poster Contest

YANGON, 11 June — The 2005 World
Population Day Commemorative Poster Contests, jointly organized by the Ministry
of Immigration and Population and the UNFPA, were held at the designated places
in States and Divisions today.
Chairman of Yangon Division Peace
and Development Council Commander of Yangon Command Maj-Gen Myint Swe visited
the poster contest of Yangon Division at Ahlon Township Hall.
Accompanied by Vice-Mayor Col
Maung Pa, the Commander viewed competition of students in the 6-8 age class, the
9-12 age class, the 13-15 age class, and the 16-18 age class contests.
Altogether 160 students participated in the contests. The 19 years and above
class is categorized as the open one. Ten best entries of age-wise contests from
States and Divisions will be chosen and sent to Population Department. In the
final stage, the central level scrutinizing group will choose state and division
selected entries.
The first prize winning entries
in agewise contests will be submitted to UNFPA (Headquarters) to take part in
the international poster contest.
