Measures for regional development discussed

YANGON, 11 June—Chairman of Shan State Peace and Development Council Commander of Eastern Command Maj-Gen Ye Myint held a meeting with service personnel, members of social organizations, townselders and local residents at Basic Education Middle School in Indaw Township, Taunggyi District, on 8 June morning.

Officials concerned reported on agriculture, livestock breeding, and regional development tasks. The commander instructed them to make efforts in concert for ensuring better transport and local food sufficiency, and extended growing of perennial crops.

The commander inspected Indaw Township BEHS and People’s Hospital.

He also met departmental officials, social organizations, townselders and local people at Town Hall of Yaksawk. Officials gave an account of work progress in various sectors.

The commander called for collective efforts for achieving the five rural development tasks and regional development.
