DEPARTMENT OF WORKS INSPECTION

     This department inspects works and projects undertaken by Public Works and Department of Housing and Human Settlement Development. The construction works, repairs and maintenance works of roads, bridges and airfields funded by the annual government budgetary allotments have been inspected on a regular basis.

     It oversees that there is no wastage of funds and materials, the workmanship meets the set norms, that the construction and maintenance works are accomplished within the stipulated time and carried out in strict compliances with the existing codes of practice.

     The Department of Works Inspection also has as an advisory role for the Minister.
