Products of the Beekeeping Division
The objectives of
the Beekeeping Division are
- To distribute modern beekeeping techniques to farmers and rural communities
- To distribute modern hive-bee colonies and modern techniques of purified
honey extraction to
farmers
- To demonstrate pollination activities and result of bees to farmers to conduct
research works in
modernization of local bees to assirt in substitution of opium cultivation
- To assist the fullfillment of national income by production of honey and
other bee products.
Medicated Substances, food stuffs and cosmetics
are produced from honey and bee products. Myanmar exported 670 metric tons
of honey to Japan and Germany from 1989-90 to 1998-99.
