I WAS not very interested in jewellery until I was over the age of 20. But now as a woman, I love wearing it. I think it can add charm and elegance to your appearance.

Diamonds are my favourite because I think they are more intriguing and beautiful than other stones. Rubies and sapphires do not have the same sparkle.

Being an actress, I make clothes my first priority. I decide if I should wear jewellery based on the clothes I wear.

I wore a pearl and diamond set at my engagement. At the wedding ceremony, I wore only diamonds because my wedding dress was pure white.

Even though I tend to wear clothes and jewellery of matching colours, sometimes I find that opposite colours go well with each other.

For example, at the last Myanmar Academy Awards ceremony, I wanted to wear a new outfit I had recently made that was white with brown and red patterns on it. While searching for jewellery that would match the outfit, I fell in love with a diamond and sapphire set that had both a modern and classic touch. I could not resist it so I took the risk! Fortunately, it turned out well.

I have never bought jewellery while shopping, but I once bought something I liked while shooting a Rich Gems advertisement. I don’t know much about designs, so I ask for advice from my cousins who own AAA Gems and Jewellery shop.

As a present, my husband gives me beautiful jewellery on my birthdays. But he gave me more before our marriage!
