BUILDING work has begun on Airport View Tower at 9 mile on Pyay
Road, a 20-storey development near Yangon International Airport,
the developer said this month.
Shwe Pyi Thit Development Group began work on the three-acre
site at the end of April; it expects to finish building by October
2005.
“We expect the cost of the project to reach K8 billion,”
said U Zaw Zaw Naing, managing director of Shwe Pyi Thit Development
Group.
The development will include three towers, two of which will
be 14 stories and the third 20 stories.
The development will include a two-storey shopping centre at
the base of each tower. The remaining floors will feature apartments
with up to 1800 square feet of floor space and a further four
penthouses on the top floor of each of the towers.
Facilities will include a Private Automatic Branch Exchange
telephone system, car parks and dual lifts in each tower.
“The price of the apartments will be fixed between K40
million and K50m. We have not yet opened sales but 50 units have
been reserved so far – most of the buyers are from the surrounding
area,” U Zaw Zaw Naing said, adding that the price of the
penthouses has not yet been determined.
“We are developing this project especially for those who
are looking for easy access to the airport and peace and quiet,”
he said.
Airport View Tower replaces a tower factory owned by Ministry
of Industry (1).
