Short-term Consultant for Urinary Iodine Excretion Survey 2004 -
4 months
|
UNICEF is seeking to recruit a Consultant to provide technical
and managerial inputs in planning, design, training, data collection,
analysis and reporting of UIE survey in 2004 together with National
Nutrition Center (NNC) of Department of Health (DOH).
Your role would be:
1. Prepare, design and develop work plan for Urinary Iodine
Excretion survey 2004.
2. Coordinate and supervise the collection of urine samples.
3. Train NNC staff on laboratory analysis of urine samples.
4. Carry out and supervise the laboratory analysis of urine
samples.
5. Update NNC and UNICEF monthly on the progress of UIE survey
2004.
6. Prepare a final report on UIE survey 2004.
- Precise work plan with timelines for Urine
Iodine Excretion (UIE) Survey 2004;
- Monthly progress reports updating the status of UIE Survey;
- Final report of UIE Survey 2004.
You should have:
- University degree in Social Sciences, preferably in Nutrition;
- Strong basic knowledge in Universal Salt Iodization (USI) and
Iodine Deficiency Disorder Elimination (IDDE);
- At least 5 years experience working in nutritional biochemistry,
especially in IDDE;
- More than 5 years experience in preparing, designing and developing
research plans;
- Experience in working closely with NNC and Department of Medical
Research;
- Experience in carrying out population-based surveys;
- Good writing skills and command of spoken and written English;
- Knowledge/experience of working with UNICEF is preferable
