» Management of the news diary and allocation of reporting assignments to the 70-strong newsroom.
»Liaison between editors, sub editors and reporters;
»Ensuring reporters keep to their assigned rounds and editorial deadlines through regular meetings and discussions;
»Being the go-to person for people in the newsroom – someone to serve as the link between reporters and the senior management of the company;
»Being a key person to improve the work culture inside the newsroom.
The person we are seeking should have the following skills and qualifications:
»An appropriate tertiary qualification and/or a minimum of 10 years experience in a management position;
»Knowledge and experience in a publishing environment, while highly regarded, is not essential;
»Strong written and verbal skills in English and Myanmar languages;
»Computer literacy with Microsoft products;
»First class interpersonal skills and a proven ability to mediate on day-to-day issues.
