THE ritual of washing hair has long been associated with a wide range of folk beliefs. Some people in Myanmar accept that those who wash their hair on Wednesday will suffer from bad luck, while anyone staying at a house whose owner is on a journey should refrain from cleaning their hair until the owner returns.
