A MYANMAR ICT company is developing a home security system designed
to improve the safety of living in a condominium.
U Tin Hlaing, the president of the Parami Group Co., Ltd., said
the system has been in development since January and will detect
and report any threat, such as fires or break-ins, while the occupants
are away.
“The occupants are alerted instantly to unusual happenings
at home by mobile phone and can immediately notify authorities
and prevent further damage or loss,” he said.
The system will also provide other ‘smart’ services,
such as allowing tenants to use voice commands or their mobile
phones’ short message system (SMS) to regulate home access,
and to control room temperature, lighting levels and home entertainment
equipment, U Tin Hlaing said.
The software that is the key to operating the system was developed
at the company’s Singapore branch by technicians from Myanmar
and other countries.
. He said the system was squarely aimed at the condominium market.
Increased living standards in Yangon have resulted in demand
for better housing, which has boosted to the condominium construction
business and given rise to the need for better security for tenants,
he said.
The system will detect threats to home security using closed-circuit
televisions and in-home sensors, and will use a computer to send
a warning message via the home phone service to the tenant’s
mobile phone, U Tin Hlaing said.
The basic system includes one closed-circuit TV camera each
for the main entrance, the living room, a valuables storage room
and the kitchen; a computer to analyse the data recorded; and
a landline telephone. through which the tenant’s mobile
phone can be contacted.
The basic system can be installed in a single condominium unit
at a cost of K3.8 million, U Tin Hlaing said.
