A MYANMAR who worked for a United Nations agency in Afghanistan
was killed in a suicide bomb attack at an internet cafe
in Kabul on May 7, the day before he was due to return to
Yangon to visit his family.
U Tint Swe, 52, a senior engineer working on a United Nations
Office for Project Services’ project to rebuild the
road linking Kabul and Kandahar, was among three people
killed in the blast.
U Tint Swe’s widow, Daw Marlar Than, told Myanmar
Times he was sending an e-mail to his daughter, Dr Thet
Chaw Su, when the incident occurred.
