MIN Wae Aung, one of Myanmar’s well-known young contemporary artists, is showing Myanmar to the world with his exhibitions this year.

He will mount a solo exhibition at the Kings Road Gallery in Chelsea, London from June 12 to 25.

Min Wae Aung, owner of the New Treasure Gallery in Yangon, has had experience on the international art scene where his works have been well received.

Since 1994 he has participated in more than 15 international shows - both solo and group shows in the USA, England, Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

 
THE late Doe Lone was a much-loved pioneer of alternative music in Myanmar, and one of our first singer/songwriters in this genre. So it is appropriate that among the rash of tribute memorial albums, one has now been released for this iconic figure.
 
Why has her success and fame lasted so long? Many of her contemporaries and even younger writers describe her as a genius who could make simple everyday matters into readable, interesting books which reflected the lives and concerns of her readers.
 
WHEN two Cambodian artists on their honeymoon came to Myanmar for the first time last February, they were amazed to find how similar the art of Myanmar and Cambodia were, and they felt instantly at home.

Ei Toe, the son of Rock icon Zaw Win Htut, has finally finished his debut album, Min Shi Yar (Where you are!). It has taken him nearly four years to complete the album to his satisfaction and now he expects it will be released in June.

 

IT seems that everywhere you turn these days, there’s a contest offering great prizes for wannabe singers, dancers, models and beauty queens. There are great prizes on offer and great opportunities for those who win and many of today’s stars got their start in contests like these.

 

It is a collection of photos taken by Joanna MacLean, the head of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies’ Myanmar Delegation and Morris Allen, a teacher from the International Language and Business Centre. All of the photos focus on the Naga people of different ages in their traditional costumes.

Myanmar and Cambodians artists will hold an Exchange Contemporary Art Exhibition of their intallation from May 17 to 31 at the Alliance Francaise . Entitled Je Jeu (I Play) it is the collaboration of two young Cambodian artists, Sopheap Pich and Linda Saphan, and Myanmar artists Than Htay Maung ,Lut Lat Ein and Eikaza Cho. 340 Pyay Road.
