New ambassador to Indonesia

Myanmar’s new ambassador to Germany, U Tin Win, with the German President, Mr Horst Kohler, after presenting his credentials in Berlin in June 24.

A FORMER senior military officer, U Khin Zaw Win, was appointed as Myanmar’s new ambassador to Indonesia last week, a government announcement on July 14 said.

U Khin Zaw Win, who held the rank of brigadier-general, previously served as the Commander of Khamaukgyi station in Tanintharyi Division.
U Khin Zaw Win replaces U Kyaw Myint.

Meanwhile, the newly appointed Myanmar ambassadors to Britain and Germany, U Nay Win and U Tin Win, have assumed their posts.
U Nay Win presented his credentials to Queen Elizabeth II on July 1, a separate announcement on July 14 said.

He previously served as ambassador to South Korea.

U Tin Win, who previously served as ambassador to Israel, presented his credentials to the German President, Mr Horst Kohler, on June 24, the German embassy said in a statement on July 8.

U Tin Win replaced U Nyunt Maung Shein, who was transferred in May to be Myanmar’s permanent representative to the United Nations in Geneva.
