Hidero Nakagami |
LOCAL hairstylists took a quick course last week with visiting
Japanese hairstylist Hidero Nakagami.
“We asked him to train the staff at our Shiseido beauty
salon,” said Daw Ei Thandar Khaing, manager of Taw Win Oo
Co Ltd, which brought the first Shiseido salon to Myanmar.
“He accepted our invitation and trained the staff for two
days. After that we got the idea to introduce him to other local
beauticians, so we arranged a seminar on international hair trends
for Spring/Summer 2005,” she added.
It was Mr Hidero’s first visit to Myanmar. He belongs to
a small group of Asian hair stylists who are well-known internationally.

After training staff from the Shiseido salon in Yangon, he moved
on to other stylists on July 7 and 8.
Fifty local hairdressers took part in his five-hour seminars
at the Grand Plaza Park Royal Hotel.
While it is summer in other countries, it is monsoon in Myanmar,
but the local hairdressers were still keen to see the latest spring/summer
international trends demonstrated by Mr Hidero’s skillful
hands.
All participants received a certificate of attendance.
