LAST week kept Socialite busy with a variety of functions, with drinking, toe-tapping and eating. Lucky Socialite has booked into the gym of late, otherwise all this wonderful food would be making her a little less fleet of foot. Wednesday, July 25 saw the cans cracked open, and the soft drink flowing as VeVe chose among a bevy of beauties who would be the new talent in their TV commercials. There were 13 finalists displaying their acting abilities, accompanied by male models Sai Bo Bo and Nyi Nyi Nay Naing. Friday night was busy as Socialite rushed from a live gig at Silver Oak, to a cocktail party at Summit Parkview. Sai Sai Khan Hlaing was the main attraction at the Silver Oak performance, accompanied by three other vocalists, and surrounded by an audience of friends and fans including Anagga, actor Byite and Graphic Designer Myo Swe Than. Then it was off to Summit Parkview, where irrepressible Linie Cortez, the general manager, was treating a chosen few to a cocktail party. The food was delicious and the company delightful, fixing a grin on Socialite’s face as she drove home for her beauty sleep. Thanks to Ma April and Ma Margaret from the Japanese Embassy, Socialite was treated to a lovely Saturday evening with a showing of Children of Nagasaki and winners in the Japanese essay competition being presented with their prizes.
