100-Household Elder Wounded in Shooting by So-Called PDF Terrorist Group in Pyin Chaug Village, Taungdwingyi Township of Magway Region

     In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
    Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 5 June 2025 at 6:20 AM, a report stated that a man was injured by gunfire in Pyin Chaug Village, Taungdwingyi Township of Magway Region. When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, they discovered that the victim was identified as U Than Win (aka) Ba Gyi Lay (61 years old), a 100-household elder and resident of the village. The incident occurred while he was in his house, two so-called PDF terrorists arriving by motorcycle and opened fire on him. As a result, U Than Win (aka) Ba Gyi Lay sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to Taungdwingyi Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
    Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
