Buddhist Junior Novice Killed, Innocent Civilian Injured in Improvised Rocket Attack by So-Called PDF Terrorist Group in Monywa Township of Sagaing Region

     Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, improvised rocket attacks on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and instill fear among the public.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 19 May 2026 at 10:20 PM, an improvised rocket exploded within Bandula Ward in Monywa Township of Sagaing Region. As a result, junior novice Shin Pyin Nyar Wun Sa (11 years old) and Mg Thura Aung (17 years old), both resident of the ward, sustained shrapnel injuries. The injured individuals were transported to Monywa Township Public Hospital for medical treatment. However, the novice passed away while receiving medical treatment, it is reported.

     According to the above mentioned case, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate firing of heavy weapons, small arms, improvised rockets and drone attacks by dropping bombs on wards and villages. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incident, it is reported.
