Head of Ward/Village Electoral Commission Shot Dead by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Aunglan Township of Magway Region

    The terrorist groups, the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the National Unity Government (NUG), with the aim of nationwide destruction, have formed the terrorist group known as the so-called PDF. Under various pretexts, in some regions, they have been arresting, torturing and killing loyal government employees who are dutifully performing their duties, monks and innocent local residents.

    Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 17 January 2026 at 3:30 PM, while U Win Zaw Oo (45 years old), the head of Ward/Village Electoral Commission and a resident of Higyi Doe Village in Aunglan Township of Magway Region, was at a monastery in the village, two so-called PDF terrorists, arriving by motorcycle, opened fire on him. As a result, U Win Zaw Oo died on the spot, it is reported.

    According to the above-mentioned case, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate shootings and killings of the head of Ward/Village Electoral Commission by armed terrorists, who intended to spread fear among the public. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incident, it is reported.
