Administrative officials and innocent civilians were killed by so-called PDF terrorists using guns and knives

     In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers “Anyone with differing views is an enemy” are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include civil services, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being “spies, informants or decoys” to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
    Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 12 April, 2024 at 8:15 AM, a report stated that a man and woman were killed by gunfire and a knife attack in Khyeinn Village, Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Village Administrator, U Khin Aung (aka) Chitsayar (74 years old) and his wife, Daw San San Mu (56 years old) who both lived in the village, were in their house when three so-called PDF terrorists arrived on a motorcycle. They opened fire and attacked the couple with knives, resulting in their deaths from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
    Similarly, at 8:30 AM, a report stated that a man was killed by gunfire in Pyinhtein Village, Lounglon Township, Tanintharyi Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Kyi Lay (54 years old) who lived in the village, was cleaning his pig breeding shed when 10 so-called PDF terrorists arrived in a vehicle and opened fire on him. As a result, U Kyi Lay died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
     Similarly, at 4:00 PM, a report stated that a man was killed by gunfire in Nganyar Village, Ngazun Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that a 100-household elder, U Myint Ngwe (61 years old) who lived in the village, was in his house along with his wife, Daw Mu (55 years old) when four so-called PDF terrorists arrived on two motorcycles and opened fire on him. Additionally, the terrorists robbed a pair of gold earrings and a mobile phone before fleeing. As a result, U Myint Ngwe was died from gunshot injuries. Fortunately, Daw Mu was not injured, it is reported.
    Similarly, at 7:05 PM, Malgarat Village Administrator, U Phoe Saung (75 years old) who lived in Ywarthitkone Village, Kyonpyaw Township, Ayeyawady Region, was travelling alone on his motorcycle from Malgarat Village to Ywarthitkone Village along the Malgarat-Ywarthitkone Village Commuter Dirt Road. When he neared Ywarthitkone Village, two terrorists on a motorcycle followed him and opened fire before fleeing. As a result, U Phoe Saung died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.
      Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of administrative officials and innocent civilians in the abovementioned cases, it is reported.
