Administrative officials were shot and killed by so-called PDF terrorists 

     In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include civil services, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being 'spies,' 'informants,' or 'decoys' to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 17 April 2024, at 10:15 AM, a report stated that a man was killed by gunfire in Gonmikwin Village, Phyu Township, Bago Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that on 16 April at 10:00 PM, a 100-household elder, U Soe Thint (61 years old), who lived in the village, was in his house when 10 so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on him. As a result, U Soe Thint died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.

     Similarly, on 17 April at 5:45 PM, a report stated that a man was killed by gunfire in Ngange-Phonkone Village, Natmauk Township, Magway Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Village Administrator, U Khin Maung Aye (57 years old), who lived in the village, was present on the main village road to offer rice donation to monks when 10 so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on him. As a result, U Khin Maung Aye died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.

     Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of administrative officials in the abovementioned cases, it is reported.
