Innocent civilians were shot and killed by so-called PDF terrorists

     In some townships across States and Regions, armed terrorists driven by a radicalized ideology that considers 'Anyone with differing views is an enemy' are carrying out violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets include civil services, administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not endorse their terrorist activities. Using firearms and knives, they accuse these individuals of being “spies, informants or decoys” to instill fear among peace-seeking civilians, causing a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 29 April, 2024 at 7:30 PM, U Kyaw Soe (53 years old), who lived in Zardi Village, Yebyu Township, Tanintharyi Region, was in his house when approximately 10 so-called PDF terrorists arrived on motorcycles and opened fire on him. As a result, U Kyaw Soe died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.

     Similarly, on 30 April  at 11:45 AM, a report stated that a man with gunshot injuries was found dead in an irrigation ditch near Kanphyu Village, Madaya Township, Mandalay Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that a man, approximately 37 year old, had been killed by gunfire from a terrorist group. The deceased was transported to Madaya Township Public Hospital for examination, it is reported.

     Similarly, at 1:00 PM, a report stated that a man was killed by gunfire in Ahlalywar Village, Madaya Township. Security personnel promptly arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Hla Win (aka) U Hla Min (66 years old), who lived in the village, was in his field approximately two furlongs southwest of the village, when two so-called PDF terrorists arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on him before fleeing. As a result, U Hla Win (aka) U Hla Min died from gunshot injuries, it is reported.

     Security personnel are persistently undertaking essential measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for killings and assassinations of innocent civilians in the abovementioned cases, it is reported.
